Our Residents

Our wonderful residents make our program what it is!

The structure of our program allows our residents to spend time together and form tight-knit bonds - both in clinical settings and out.

Some celebrated social events include the Thanksgiving dinner and talent show, alumni + resident gatherings and career fairs, annual retreats for each PGY year, and a group PGY1 trip to the Society of General Internal Medicine (SGIM) Annual Meeting each year.

Resident Life

Housing

Montefiore Medical Center's Bronx location is easily accessible by train (the 4 and D) train from Manhattan, and by car from Westchester and the other boroughs. About 30 percent of residents live in Montefiore housing, 30 percent in other areas of the Bronx, 30 percent in Manhattan, and the remainder in Westchester and other areas. Residents may apply for Montefiore housing, which consists of two affordable and convenient options; placement is determined by lottery.

Many residents also live in other areas of the Bronx, including Norwood, Riverdale, and Mott Haven to name a few areas. Some residents live in Manhattan as well, and typically live near 4 express train stations.
